Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)

This visa lets nominated skilled workers live and work in Australia as permanent residents.

You will be able to:

  • work and study anywhere in Australia
  • sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence
  • if eligible, become an Australian citizen

    Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189)

    Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)

    A temporary visa that allows recently graduated international students to live, study and work.

    Skilled—Recognised Graduate visa (subclass 476)

    This visa allows recent engineering graduates to live, work or study in Australia for up to 18 months. You must have completed a degree or higher qualification from a specified institution within the past 2 years, and be under 31 years of age.

    • You must have a competent level of English - equivalent of IELTS Full Band 6.0
    • When you apply, you must have completed an engineering course for which you were awarded a degree or higher qualification in the last 2 years. This could be a: bachelors degree, masters degree, doctoral degree, postgraduate diploma
    • This qualification must be in an engineering discipline, such as: civil engineering, structural engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical, production and plant engineering, mining and material engineering

    Tasmania Small Business Owner visa (subclass 491 SBO)

    The program assists overseas nationals obtain Tasmania Government nomination if they show commitment to supporting the Tasmania’s innovation ecosystem and meet the nomination criteria set by the Tasmania Government.

    You will be able to:

    • live, work, and conduct business in Tasmania
    • bring your family to Australia

    • You must have an occupation in the LIN19/051, a positive skills assessment
    • You must score at least EOI 65 points (including 15 points of state nomination)
    • You must score at least IELTS 6.0
    • You must have a comprehensive business plan on how you will do business in Tasmania

    • One of the only Skilled Worker - Small Business Owner visa aside from the Queensland Small Business Owner visa (subclass 491 SBO)

    This visa is for small business owners to operate a business in regional Queensland.

    • Personal income derived from operating the business would meet the minimum taxable income requirement set by DHA for visa 191. Currently, that is $53,900 per year for at least 3 years in the next 5 years.
    • You must have a competent level of English - equivalent of IELTS Full Band 6.0
    • You must be under 45 years of age
    • You must have an occupation in the LIN19/051, a positive skills assessment
    • You must score at least EOI 65 points (including 15 points of state nomination)

    • You must have prior business experience or qualifications to successfully run the business (or have previously been involved in a family-run business)
    • You must be on a visa that allows full-time work and operation of the business for a minimum of 35 hours per week
    • You must have purchased an existing business in regional Queensland (Note: not available for start-ups or home based businesses)
    • You must employ one (1) employee who is an Australian resident working a minimum of 20 hours per week
    • You must provide evidence of sufficient settlement funds
